Introduction
Cervical degenerative changes are intervertebral disc herniation, ligamentous instability, facet joint hypertrophy. There are many pathologic cause of cervical disease. Old age and high height was proved to risk factor in many studies. At clinic, there are many patient of cervical disease with cervical hump. In our study correlation between cervical disease and cervical hump was evaluated. Material and method 82 patients were enrolled who suffer for cervical pain. Cervical MRI were examed in all patients. The presence of disease and depth of cervical hump was checked. (Figure 1,Figure 2) The depth of cervical hump was measured in vertical to 7th cervical body. The presence of diseases were confirmed by radiologic specialist. Result 15 patients were confirmed normal and 29 of sponylosis, 26 of cervical HNP , 12 of cervical stenosis. (Table 1) The difference of age and cervical hump depth were statistically significant(p value 0.007, 0.019). But after ad-hoc test, non of group was statistically different. There was positive correlationship between weight and cervical hump depth(r=0.433 p<0.001). Age, sex, ROM was not correlation factor. Disccusion There was no study about relation between cervical hump and cervical disease. We supposed cervical hump become longer than normal because of cervical instability caused by cervical disease. But there was no difference of cervical hump depth between each groups. Conclusion The lengths of cervical hump were not different among cervical disease group and normal group. Cervical hump depth has positive correaltion between weight. |
