As I begin my journey as the 27th President of the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine in November 2024, I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to work with each of you. First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our members who have tirelessly dedicated themselves to advancing our academy.
Our academy now stands at a pivotal moment, where we must continue to embrace innovation and boldness to lead the future of rehabilitation medicine in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. As we move into this new era, we recognize the critical role that rehabilitation medicine must play in significantly improving people’s lives and contributing to a healthier society. Thus, from 2024 onward, our academy is committed to elevating the field of rehabilitation medicine domestically and globally, while fostering the health and well-being of all individuals.
Moving forward, we aim to establish a more inclusive and innovative rehabilitation model through the Primary Care Physician Program for People with Disabilities and the Rehabilitation Medicine Institute. Furthermore, we will develop an evidence-based Korean rehabilitation healthcare service model utilizing AI and big data, strengthening the framework of evidence-based care. We will also incorporate advanced digital healthcare technologies to set new standards for rehabilitation medicine.
In addition, our academy will focus on maximizing the academic capabilities of our members, striving to expand our influence both domestically and globally. Through promoting international academic exchange and research collaborations, we will strengthen our global reach. Our distinguished journal, Annals of Rehabilitation Medicine, will further facilitate collaborations with researchers worldwide, ensuring that the research achievements of the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine gain the international recognition they deserve.
Dear members, the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine is now stepping confidently toward the next 50 years. Together, as we move forward with this new vision, I kindly ask for your active participation and support in making rehabilitation medicine a powerful force that enhances the health and lives of our society.
Thank you.
