Dear Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine,

While hoping for a better year ahead, ISPRM will continue to play its essential role in optimizing functioning and health-related quality of life and minimizing disability and related medical problems throughout the world. This is only possible because our members are working together with determination and focus, so I thank in advance to all those who are a part of ISPRM and its Committees, task forces and groups, that in addition to their demanding professional obligations help ISPRM to achieve its goals with an in-depth scientific foundation.

We start the year with some news regarding the ISPRM Central Office: beginning this month we will have Maria Carvalho replacing Jessyca Idi in the team. We would like to thank Jessyca for the great work done so far and wish her the best of luck in the future, and we send a warm welcome to Maria, wishing her all the success. Following a very successful congress in Lisbon, where we had a chance to meet in person for the first time since the break of the pandemic, we are now delighted to be attending next June the ISPRM2023 congress in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia! The congress motto is “New perspectives in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for global health challenges” and it represents the intention to focus on the current and future Rehabilitation health needs of people around the world. The ISPRM World congress will also be the Colombian National Congress (ACMF&R) as well as a meeting of several Ibero-American societies. I remind you that the abstract submission is open until February 1st, so don’t miss your chance to present and share your work and research! ISPRM2023 will be held in a city well known for its culture, safety, and amazing weather. Our colleagues from Colombia and the Scientific Committee are meticulously planning the program with the participation of renowned national and international faculty. I am sure that all the delegates will appreciate the academic and the social events of this congress, so I look forward to meeting you all in Cartagena de Indias, from 4 to 8 June 2023!
